How we got here

A Victorian auditor saw a gap nobody else was filling: independent assessment of building safety systems, with no conflict of interest. Focus BRC was born. |

The problem |
Clients kept asking if he'd do the servicing too. Eventually he did. The conflict everyone warned about emerged. He sold the servicing arm and returned to pure auditing. |

Sat the team down. Asked everyone why they chose this work. Every single person gave the same answer: to make buildings safer. That became the purpose — and it still is. |
An annual audit finds problems. It doesn't fix them.
Turning up once a year, handing over a report, and walking away isn't making buildings safer. It's passing paper. Problems that appear in year one often haven't changed in year two. We decided that wasn't good enough.

30 years in risk and compliance, accounting, banking, insurance broking, before buying Focus BRC in 2023. He cooks a serious BBQ and follows community rugby with the same intensity he brings to everything else.
